Mission
TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE WORLDWIDE TIBET MOVEMENT, WHICH IS DEDICATED TO ENDING HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN TIBET, AND TO ACTIVELY SUPPORTING THE TIBETAN PEOPLE'S RIGHT UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW TO DETERMINE THEIR OWN POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL STATUS.
Program accomplishments
- Campaign Coordination. In 2025 International Tibet Network supported a broad range of global advocacy, campaign coordination and rapid response work across the Tibet movement, including major international campaigns defending Tibetan political prisoners through the Free Tibetan Heroes campaign and expanded global advocacy on the theme of "Tibet's Stolen Children", relating to China's colonial boarding schools. Other priorities were strategies to increase multilateral pressure on China around the G7 Summit, UN Human Rights Council and key government visits and campaigns on religious freedom, including the future reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. The Network mobilised worldwide actions around major milestones such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 90th Birthday. Environmental and culture-focused work spotlighted resource extraction, dams and mining, and strategies to counter China's propaganda.Expenses $110,016
- Meetings and Conferences. Meetings hosted during 2025 included exchange and learning between Taiwanese civil society groups in Taipei and a special meeting/training on strategic communications (see Capacity, below). Our in-house environmental expert participated in a range of conferences on climate change and rivers across the Asia region. Network staff attended external conferences such as the International Tibet Youth Forum, where we delivered a training session on campaign planning for young Tibetan activists, and the North India Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group meeting.Expenses $33,259
- Training and Capacity Building. In 2025 we held a Communications Training for Tibet Groups for the purposes of building a foundational understanding of crisis communication and messaging led by experts and team members. Additionally, we held numerous online meetings and sessions for get-togethers for groups, panels for discussions and trainings to build capacity for individual groups.Expenses $71,274
