Mission
UPAAA's overall mission is to engage alumni and alumni organizations of the University of the Philippines to work together on educational, charitable, cultural and other meaningful projects that benefit UP Alumni, the UP System, and the community in pursuit of our shared goals, drawing on our individual and collective resources and of those in the community where we live.
Program accomplishments
- UPAAA's Scholarship Program has provided financial assistance to low-income and deserving students across various University of the Philippines (UP) campuses. Support has included stipends, books, transportation, and food allowances, helping students successfully pursue their education. The program has also supported Filipino scholars pursuing graduate degrees and fellowship programs in the United States by helping cover expenses such as airfare, stipends, and other educational costs. Through these efforts, UPAAA has expanded educational opportunities and empowered students to pursue their academic goals, develop their full potential, and contribute to the betterment of future Filipino generations both in the Philippines and abroad. Currently, more than 40 students have benefited from this program. Several scholars have graduated with high honors, while others have successfully completed their degree programs with the support of UPAAA's scholarship assistance. These achievements reflect the program's lasting impact on student success and academic excellence.Expenses $87,617 · revenue $223,733
- The Biennial Grand Reunion Convention (GRC) is a premier gathering of University of the Philippines (UP) alumni from around the world that fosters fellowship, networking, and a renewed commitment to UP's mission of excellence, leadership, and service. The convention serves as a platform for the University to provide important updates on its achievements, priorities, and future directions, while engaging alumni in meaningful discussions on how they can support the various UP campuses through mentorship, volunteerism, strategic partnerships, and resource development. A key component of the GRC is fundraising to sustain the organization's programs and scholarship initiatives, which provide financial assistance to deserving and low-income students, empowering them to pursue their academic goals and become future leaders who will contribute to the advancement of the Philippines. By bringing together alumni, university leaders, and supporters, the GRC strengthens the global UP community and advances opportunities that promote academic excellence, leadership development, and nation-building for future Filipino generations.Expenses $133,133 · revenue $137,372
