Program accomplishments

  • GRANTMAKING AND GRANTEE SUPPORT: THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO RESOURCE GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS. OUR GRANTMAKING HAS STRENGTHENED GENDER JUSTICE MOVEMENTS ACROSS THE GLOBE, INCLUDING GROUPS ADVANCING CLIMATE JUSTICE IN THE CARIBBEAN, PACIFIC ISLANDS, AND AFRICA; PROMOTING SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS IN WEST AND EAST AFRICA; AND ADVOCATING FOR FREEDOM FROM VIOLENCE IN PERU, AMONG OTHERS. THESE GRANTS SUPPORTED GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS IN RESPONDING TO IMMEDIATE COMMUNITY NEEDS WHILE SUSTAINING LONG-TERM STRATEGIES FOR GENDER JUSTICE. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO INVEST IN REGIONAL FEMINIST FUNDS AND EXPLORE NEW APPROACHES TO IDENTIFYING AND RESOURCING GENDER JUSTICE MOVEMENTS.
    Expenses $19,335,048 · grants $13,713,100
  • COMMUNICATIONS: OUR COMMUNICATIONS EFFORTS AMPLIFIED THE LEADERSHIP OF FEMINIST LEADERS AND STRENGTHENED PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE POWER OF GRASSROOTS GENDER JUSTICE MOVEMENTS. A NEW CAMPAIGN WAS LAUNCHED, SHARING LOCALLY LED SOLUTIONS TO ISSUES SUCH AS ENDING ALL FORMS OF VIOLENCE IN LATIN AMERICA AND REDUCING POLLUTION IN UGANDA. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO EXPANDED STORYTELLING PARTNERSHIPS WITH ARTIST-ACTIVISTS AND HIGHLIGHTED INSIGHTS FROM PARTNERS WORKING ACROSS MULTIPLE ISSUES - INCLUDING ARTISTS WORKING AT THE INTERSECTION OF GENDER JUSTICE AND CREATIVITY, AND YOUTH GROUPS ADVANCING OUR WORK IN YOUTH-LED PARTICIPATORY GRANTMAKING.
