Mission
THE ASSOCIATION OF PROCUREMENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTERS (APTAC) IS A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION COMPRISED OF AND SUPPORTING PROCUREMENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTERS (PTACS) AND THE PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK FOR THEM. APTAC'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE PTACS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE THE VERY HIGHEST LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING ASSISTANCE, THEREBY INCREASING AND IMPROVING THE SUPPLIER BASE WHICH SERVES THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES AND GOVERNMENT AS A WHOLE. APTAC'S PRIMARY FUNCTION IS TO PROVIDE A NATIONAL FORUM TO CONDUCT TRAINING AND FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE OF INFOMATION AND IDEAS AMONG PROCUREMENT PROFESSIONALS, TO PROVIDE THE NATIONAL VOICE OF THE PTACS, AND TO OTHERWISE WORK TOWARD STRENGTHENING THE PROGRAM AND THE LEVEL OF SERVICES IT PROVIDES.

- THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTED A 5 DAY IN-PERSON SPRING CONFERENCE FOR APPROXIMATELY 320 MEMBERS, A 3 DAY VIRTUAL SUMMER CONFERENCE FOR 186 MEMBERS, AND A 5 DAY IN-PERSON FALL CONFERENCE FOR APPROXIMATELY 360 MEMBERS, EACH OF WHICH FEATURE TRAINING OF AGENCY INITIATIVES AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PROCUREMENT ARENA.
- THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED A WEBSITE WITH INFORMATION FOR THE PUBLIC AND EXPANDED RESOURCES FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP AND PUBLISHED 3 ELECTRONIC MAGAZINES AND 42 E-NEWSLETTERS INCLUDING TOPICAL INFORMATION FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP AND OTHER SUBSCRIBERS.
- THE ORGANIZATION HELD 8 MONTHLY PROGRAM MANAGER CALLS AND 2 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP CALLS IN 2024. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HELD 9 "FOURTH FRIDAY" WEBINARS TO COVER TIMELY EDUCATION ON GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING ISSUES.
- THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINED A FRAMEWORK FOR EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ITS MEMBERS THROUGH BOTH THE NAPEX UNIVERSITY TRAINING RUBRIC AND THE CERTIFIED PROCUREMENT PROFESSIONAL (CPP) CERTIFICATION.
