OUR MISSION IS TO CONNECT BUSINESSES TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC EXPANSION AND INVESTMENT IN THE EAST END.
Program accomplishments
- NETWORKING EVENTS (WORKSHOPS/SEMINARS/LUNCHEONS): THE CHAMBER HELD 16 IN- PERSON EVENTS. 862 ATTENDEES ATTENDED THE IN-PERSON EVENTS. EACH EVENT FOCUSES ON MANAGING/GROWING YOUR BUSINESS IN THE EAST END NEIGHBORHOOD, INTRODUCING BUSINESSES TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND HOLDING EVENTS FOR ATTENDEES TO NETWORK.
- EAST END DAY: CONNECT MEMBERS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES IN THE AREA AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. THE EVENT WAS VIRTUAL AND ATTENDED BY 21 INDIVIDUALS.
- PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES TO MEMBERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF GROWING AND SUSTAINING THEIR BUSINESSES. THE EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM WAS ATTENDED BY 200 PEOPLE. 28 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE HANDED OUT TO STUDENTS FROM HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE EAST END. TOTAL SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED WERE 34,300.
- PORT HOUSTON APPRECIATION DAY - EVENT ATTENDED BY 342 ATTENDEES. THIS EVENT IS TO RECOGNIZE THE PORT AUTHORITY FOR THE JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION TO THE EAST END OF HOUSTON. EAST END WOMEN IN BUSINESS - EVENT ATTENDED BY 344 ATTENDEES. EVENT FOCUSES ON THE SUPPORT AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES TO MAKE THE WOMEN IN OUR COMMUNITY SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR BUSINESS CAREERS.
