Mission

To ease and heal the emotional trauma of the victim and the family guide the victim through the maze of the medical and legal systems, provide support for making informed decisions and advocate for victim.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • The CAC provides a multidisciplinary approach to the intervention, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse. No other agency in the community provides coordination of services for child abuse victims. CAC provides a consistent, non-threatening, developmentally appropriate approach to the forensic interviewing of children. Forensic interviewis allow a child to be interviewed once at which time the investigation team members gather information they need. This prevents repeated interviews by different individuals which can further traumatize a child. A client advocate shares resources with the non-offending caregivers to ensure that the family understands how to keep their children safe following an investigation as well as providing the family with information about community and government assistance available to them. The Center provides crisis intervention, hospital and judicial accompaniment, forensix inverviews, advocacy and therapy to all persons who report abuse, assault or witness domestic violence. Satellite offices are in Andrews and Big Spring TX.
    Expenses $673,625
  • Our Therapy Program includes a Therapy Director who provides full- time therapy and other full-time therapists. Services include teletherapy. The therapists and clients develop treatment goals and may utilize a variety of therapy approaches to meet individual needs and to promote health and healing. We continue the Thrive support group for adult victims of sexual abuse/assault and have a therapist led support group for male adult sexual assault victims.
    Expenses $728,570
  • Education of our community is very important to the goals of the Center. Two full-time staff are employed by the Center to provide education and training to the community. The education program provides a variety of presentations to schools and professionals. The presentations include Being Safe for kindergarten through 6th grade students. MRCCAC Education department currently presents internet safety to children and parents. Our Education Program provides presentations to teachers, parents, and community members in Midland, Martin, Howard, and Andrews county. Our agency hosts the Sexual Assault Response Team for adults in Midland County including Midland College. This team analyzes our community response to sexual assault. Recommendations are made for improvements.
