990 for the year ended August 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Communities In Schools of San Antonio (CIS-SA) surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. For more than 40 years, CIS-SA has worked directly on school campuses across Bexar County and surrounding communities, addressing the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that can prevent students from reaching their full potential. Today, CIS-SA serves more than 10,000 students annually through intensive case management, mental health and school-based support services.
    Expenses $18,009,626 · revenue $7,358,601
  • While CIS-SA helps connect students and families to essential resources such as food, clothing, transportation, and housing assistance, our work extends far beyond meeting immediate needs. Our professional Site Coordinators provide individualized case management, social-emotional support, goal setting, mentorship, family engagement, crisis intervention, and connections to community resources. Students also gain access to evidence-based programs that support mental wellness, attendance, academic achievement, college and career readiness, and positive youth development.
  • Working in partnership with 13 school districts and more than 140 community organizations, CIS-SA creates a network of support that helps students overcome barriers, build resilience, and develop the skills needed for lifelong success. By addressing the whole child and strengthening connections between schools, families, and communities, CIS-SA helps ensure that students not only stay in school, but also thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
