Program accomplishments
- CONSERVATION, EDUCATION, REPRESENTATION AND OUTREACH. THIS IS THE MAIN THRUST OF LWF'S WORK. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, LWF CO-SPONSORS EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR HUNTERS, ANGLERS AND OTHER OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS TO EXPLAIN HOW TO CONSERVE THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE IN LOUISIANA. LWF MONITORED AND POSTED REPORTS ON VARIOUS LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS AND AGENCY ACTIONS THAT AFFECTED NATURAL RESOURCES AND THEIR MANAGEMENT AND THE QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. LWF EDUCATED CITIZENS ON THE NEED FOR COASTAL RESTORATION AND CURRENT STATE PLANS VIA EMAIL, NEWSLETTER, AND SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE EVENTS. CONSERVATION LEADERSHIP CORPS PROGRAM ENGAGES LOUISIANA COLLEGE STUDENTS IN 4 WEEKEND SESSIONS ABOUT CONSERVATION POLICY TO BROADEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE.Expenses $597,916 · grants $50,000
