Mission
THE PURPOSES OF THE ARKANSAS BAR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: ADVANCE THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE; FOSTER AND MAINTAIN ON THE PART OF ATTORNEYS HIGH IDEALS OF INTEGRITY, LEARNING, COMPETENCE AND PUBLIC SERVICE, AND HIGH STANDARDS OF CONDUCT; ENCOURAGE THE LEGAL PROFESSION AND ITS INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS TO PERFORM MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST; CONDUCT A PROGRAM OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION FOR ATTORNEYS; PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION OF SUBJECTS PERTAINING TO THE PRACTICE OF LAW; IMPROVE THE JUDICIAL AND LEGAL PROCESS, AND ADVANCE LAW AND ORDER; AND ENCOURAGE PRACTICES THAT IMPROVE THE HONOR AND DIGNITY OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION.
Program accomplishments
- ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERSHIP ATTENDED IN PERSON BY 394 ATTORNEYS, WITH 61 SPEAKERS, INCLUDING ARKANSAS' MOST PROMINENT LAWYERS, JUDGES AND PROFESSORS, ADDRESSING CURRENT LEGAL ISSUES AND RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF LAW WITH 23.5 HOURS OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION AVAILABLE TO ATTENDEES.
- CLE PROGRAMS FOR THE BAR YEAR WERE HELD IN PERSON AND VIRTUALLY. THERE WERE 6 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS OFFERING OVER 65 HOURS OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION ON A NUMBER OF TOPICS, PRESENTED TO BY 93 SPEAKERS.
