Mission

Our organization's primary exempt purpose: 1) provide emergency relief, shelter, and rehabilitation as well as protection and care for Thoroughbred racehorses and any abused, neglected, abandoned, or unwanted horses and 2) create and promote charitable, educational and rehabilitative programming for children, adults, special needs persons and veterans in a safe and nurturing environment in the United States Virgin Islands, furthering the traditions and history of Caribbean horsemanship and agriculture.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • St Thomas VI has a horse racing facility that retires 5-8 horses every 2 months. We accept and care for the retiring horses to prepare them for their forever homes/families. We also take in abused or unwanted horses from time to time. The bulk of the expenses for this purpose is nutritional food, medical supplies, and vet exams.
    Expenses $55,909 · grants $25,643
  • The ultimate goal is for the retired horses to be adopted to homes in the mainland with plenty of grazing and unlimited access to vet care. Returning them to the States is an expensive, difficult journey involving multiple flights, quarantine in Puerto Rico, etc. We have 7 horses making the trip by the end of June, so we are constantly raising money to get them off island and to a happy ending for their lives.
    Expenses $22,780 · grants $10,000
  • We have to relocate from our current property as soon as we get htese 7 horses to their fina destination. The rehoming project has caused us to pause our community engagement for children, veterans, etc. while we relocate the horses Stateside and move the organization to a new property. Our childrens rograms will resume in the fall.
    Expenses $1,200 · grants $3,500
