TO IDENTIFY, PRESERVE, AND PROVIDE ACCESS TO CARIBBEAN GENEALOGY, HISTORY, AND CULTURAL HERITAGE INFORMATION RESOURCES FOR THE VIRGIN ISLANDS AND THE CARIBBEAN, AND TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THEIR USE FOR FAMILY HISTORY DOCUMENTATION, EDUCATION, AND SCHOLARSHIP.

- THE ORGANIZATION BEGAN DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY BASED TOOLS TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO GENEALOGICAL INFORMATION. THIS INVOLVES TRAINING AN AI SYSTEM TO SEARCH A DATABASE AND IDENTIFY FAMILY CONNECTIONS. THE PROJECT WILL BENEFIT INDIVIDUALS IN THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS AND THE BROADER CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY.Expenses $42,697
- THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A UNIQUE AND VALUABLE RESEARCH LIBRARY LOCATED ON THE ISLAND OF ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS. ESTABLISHED IN 2000, CGL IS A LEADING RESOURCE FOR FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS AND IN THE CARIBBEAN AT LARGE. THE CARIBBEAN GENEALOGY LIBRARY'S COLLECTION INCLUDES OVER 5000 BOOKS, PERIODICALS, MICROFILMS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS RELATED TO GENEALOGY AND HISTORY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS, CARIBBEAN, SOUTH AMERICA, THE UNITED STATES AND EUROPE. THE ORGANIZATION SERVES 160 MEMBERS.Expenses $25,886
