Mission
THE GOALS OF THE HEALTHY START PROGRAM ARE TO REDUCE INFANT MORTALITY, REDUCE THE NUMBER OF LOW BIRTH WEIGHT BABIES, AND IMPROVE HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENTAL OUTCOMES.
Program accomplishments
- THE ORGANIZATION IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH/FAMILY HEALTH SERVICES TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF FLORIDA'S HEALTHY START LEGISLATION IN MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA. THE ORGANIZATION HAS THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ADDRESSING THE PRENATAL AND INFANT HEALTH CARE OF ALL PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITH EMPHASIS ON THE UNINSURED, MEDICAID RECIPIENTS AND OTHER INDIGENT INDIVIDUALS BY DEVELOPING SYSTEMS OF MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CARE WHICH WILL MAXIMIZE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COOPERATION AND IMPROVE HEALTH CARE. IN FISCAL YEAR 2025, THE ORGANIZATION PROCESSED 4,286 PRENATAL AND INFANT REFERRALS. CONNECT COORDINATED INTAKE & REFERRAL SERVED 4,219 CLIENTS FOR A TOTAL OF 14,391 INDIVIDUAL SERVICES. HEALTHY START PATHWAYS SERVED 915 CLIENTS FOR A TOTAL OF 11,984 INDIVIDUAL SERVICES. HEALTHY START PATHWAYS PROVIDED 1,197 PREVENTATIVE SCREENINGS TO ENROLLED CLIENTS.Expenses $892,185
