- Behavioral Health services were delivered both within The Free Clinics and through community partnerships, including services provided in the Henderson County Detention Center and local domestic violence shelter. During the year, The Free Clinics expanded community-based behavioral health access by bringing services in-house and strengthening integrated care models that address physical health, mental health, substance use, and social determinants of health. The organizations on-site pharmacy filled an average of more than 300 prescriptions per month, helping patients maintain medication adherence and manage chronic conditions.
- Following Hurricane Helene, The Free Clinics was designated by county government as the healthcare nonprofit recipient of disaster-related donations and served as a regional coordination hub for national and international disaster relief and healthcare response organizations. The organization hosted displaced healthcare and behavioral health providers, expanded walk-in healthcare access, increased pharmacy operations from 18 to 40 hours per week, distributed medications and health supplies, and continued expanding community services while reducing overall operating expenses during a period of unprecedented regional need.
