ARCAP COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY, INC. IS COMMITTED TO MOVING PEOPLE FROM POVERTY TO ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF TECHNICAL, INFORMATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND SUPPORT SERVICES.
Program accomplishments
- THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT (CSBG) SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM AIMS TO DELIVER COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES, WITH A FOCUS ON ENHANCING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, CHILDCARE, EDUCATION ASSISTANCE, BUDGET MANAGEMENT, LIMITED TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING, AND FOOD SUPPORT. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025 THE PROGRAM ASSISTED 9 FAMILIES IN RISING ABOVE THE POVERTY LINE, FACILITATED EMPLOYMENT FOR 6 FAMILIES, HELPED 16 FAMILIES SECURE BETTER JOB POSITIONS, ENABLED 2 FAMILIES TO OBTAIN JOBS WITH MEDICAL BENEFITS, AND SUPPORTED 2 FAMILIES IN FINDING STABLE HOUSING. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROGRAM PROVIDED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TO 65 FAMILIES, EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT TO 33 FAMILES, FOOD AID TO 19 FAMILIES TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER, EDUCATION SUPPORT TO 14 FAMILIES, AND CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE TO 3 FAMILIES.Expenses $682,962 · grants $63,143
- EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EFAP): EFAP IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITIES IN ALAMANCE COUNTY. HOUSEHOLDS EXPERIENCING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS QUALIFY FOR FOOD ASSISTANCE THROUGH EFAP. HOUSEHOLDS WILL RECEIVE EMERGENCY FOOD WHICH MAY INCLUDE A THREE-DAY SUPPLY OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS (90 DAYS). SPECIAL DIETARY FOODS MAY BE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
