Mission
LOUDOUN HUNGER RELIEF IS COMMITTED TO ELIMINATING FOOD INSECURITY BY PROVIDING ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD, BUILDING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS, AND EXPANDING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.
Program accomplishments
- LOUDOUN HUNGER RELIEF (LHR) PROVIDES FREE GROCERIES TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY IN LOUDOUN COUNTY. LHR ALSO PARTNERS WITH OTHER NONPROFITS AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO DISTRIBUTE FOOD AND CONNECT PEOPLE TO ADDITIONAL RESOURCES. IN SEPTEMBER 2023, LOUDOUN HUNGER RELIEF OPENED A NEW CLIENT CHOICE FREE FOOD MARKET AND COMMUNITY SERVICES CENTER, WHICH HOUSES THREE CO-LOCATED NONPROFITS. LOUDOUN HUNGER RELIEF DISTRIBUTED 2.7 MILLION POUNDS OF FREE FOOD DIRECTLY TO HOUSEHOLDS AND PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP ALLEVIATE HUNGER IN LOUDOUN COUNTY. AN AVERAGE OF 14,000 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVE FOOD ANNUALLY THROUGH 197,000 SERVICE INSTANCES. 60% OF THE HOUSEHOLDS SERVED HAD CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18. (CONTINUED ON SCH. O)Expenses $7,469,942
