FREEDOM NOW PROTECTS INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES FROM GOVERNMENT REPRESSION AND DEFENDS HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGH DIRECT LEGAL SUPPORT, TARGETED HIGH-LEVERAGE ADVOCACY, AND CAPACITY-BUILDING ANALYSIS AND ASSISTANCE.
Program accomplishments
- LEGAL AND POLITICAL ADVOCACY ON BEHALF OF VICTIMS OF GOVERNMENT REPRESSION. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS ON BEHALF OF INDIVIDUALS, THEIR FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES WHICH HAVE SUFFERED HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS, ESPECIALLY ARBITRARY DETENTION. IN 2024, FREEDOM NOW FILED PETITIONS TO THE UNITED NATIONS, COORDINATED EFFORTS OF POLICY MAKERS, CONDUCTED CAPACITY BUILDING TRAININGS, AND PRODUCED RESEARCH AS PART OF ITS EFFORTS TO COMBAT GOVERNMENT REPRESSION.Expenses $714,870 · grants $56,163
