SOCIETY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CHAPTER (THE SOCIETY) CONNECTS AND CONVENES ORGANIZATIONS AND PEOPLE TO ENGAGE, ENRICH, AND EXPAND OUR GLOBALLY-MINDED COMMUNITY TO BUILD A MORE EQUITABLE WORLD.
Program accomplishments
- ANNUAL EVENTS: THE SOCIETY HOLDS SEVERAL ANNUAL EVENTS, INCLUDING CAREER FAIRS, AN ANNUAL DINNER AND AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE. MEMBERS AND NONMEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE EITHER VIA INDIVIDUAL TICKETS OR SPONSORSHIPS. THE CAREER FAIRS ARE MOSTLY VIRTUAL, THE DINNER IS IN PERSON AND THE CONFERENCE IS HYBRID. IN FY25 THE ANNUAL DINNER HAD 850 ATTENDEES AND REVENUES INCREASED BY 17% OVER FY24. DUE TO EXECUTIVE ORDERS THAT AFFECTED THE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SECTOR, WE WERE UNABLE TO HOLD OUR CONFERENCE IN FY25. THIS ALSO IMPACTED OUR CAREER FAIRS AND WE WERE UNABLE TO HOLD A SPRING FAIR SO CAREER FAIR REVENUES WERE APPROXIMATELY HALF OF FY24.Expenses $565,835 · grants $3,750 · revenue $441,524
- WORKGROUPS AND OTHER EVENTS: THE SOCIETY HOLDS MANY SMALLER EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, MOST OF WHICH ARE FREE TO ATTEND. SOME ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND SOME ARE MEMBER-ONLY. MOST ARE VIRTUAL, SOME ARE HYBRID AND SOME ARE IN-PERSON.Expenses $209,995 · grants $625 · revenue $20,327
