Mission

The rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of equine.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • The rescue was able to help 14 horses in 2024. There was much time spent with people and their horses working through problems to make it possible to keep the horse in the home. Services provided were chiropractor, dentist, farrier, training, vet, euthanasia and burial assistance, consultations on problem horses and how to feed older horses correctly. Three horses were rescued. We took in beautiful Boone. He was painfully thin and had laminitis that left him rotated over 20 degrees. We also took in Rocky and COCO, who were standing in 16 inches of mud in their paddock. We helped find homes for 11 horses outside of our care. Simply putting people together and spreading the word helps so much. Also, Griffin has found his forever home with SRER. Two years ago we found him at a kill pen. He was 300 pounds underweight, missing an eye, had a respiratory infection and worms. He hung his head low and drug his feet when he walked. He was traumatized and unsure about life, yet not untrusting. Although he was scared, he was open. Now he is thriving. A Tyler TV station sent a reporter to interview Angela and Griffin in 2020. The article can be found at Tylerpaper.com "Rescue horse recovers from mistreatment and neglect". There has even been a children's book written about him "Griffin, A Rescue Story". The book's author is Gina Leatherman and can be purchased on Amazon.

  • Last Act of Kindness Program - if you are in a situation where your horse requires the Last Act of Kindness, we are here to provide financial support. We understand that making this tough decision is already challenging, and financial constraints should not prolong a horse's suffering. We offer assistance of $150 per horse, or other equine, in need of this compassionate act, directly covering the costs of the procedure through the veterinarian.
  • Our Owner Assistance Program aims to support horse owners in Texas facing financial difficulties. This initiative was created to help owners keep their horses. We provide aid with hay and grain, dental care, and farrier services.
