Mission

Artz for the Harp is a nonprofit organization that provide music instruments for lessons and arts enrichment and arts therapy programming to those who need us most throughout Georgia and the southeast. We provide subsidized rates, sliding scales and scholarships to those in need during our fall and spring programs afterschool and during our summer arts enrichment camps. We have also expanded to provide transportation for students in need at no additional cost to the parents, and afterschool childcare options.

Program accomplishments

  • To date, AFTH has served over 7100 students of all ages. Our founder was featured on the cover of Georgia Trend Magazine in 2022 and received the Georgia Governor's Award for the Arts and Humanities. AFTH has been highlighted in several prominent publications, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia Trend, Atlanta Parent Magazine, and SKIRT Magazine. We are the only mobile harp and arts program in the state of Georgia that provides transportation to our Powder Springs location, as well as on-site programming for schools in all four districts and homeschool location partnerships we serve. We are connected with all four major Metro Atlanta school districts: Cobb County, Atlanta Public Schools, City of Decatur, and Fulton County Schools, providing after-school and summer programs. AFTH summer programs serve over 400 students in June, offering a wide range of arts enrichment opportunities through partnerships with local 501(c)(3) youth organizations dedicated to serving those in need. AFTH has received several grants to provide services to underserved communities and students in need of all ages. Our contracted services programs also further assist us in providing low-cost, subsidized, or no-cost options to students. Our senior programs offer group harp enrichment to seniors in retirement communities, assisted living facilities, senior recreational centers, and Alzheimer's and dementia care facilities.
