Program accomplishments

  • During the 2025 tax year, Parker's Animal Rescue continued to expand its lifesaving impact throughout Southwest Colorado. Nearly 100 dogs were rescued, rehabilitated, and successfully placed into permanent homes. The organization also strengthened its foster-based rescue model by recruiting approximately twelve new foster families and several dozen additional volunteers, increasing its capacity to save more animals.Parker's Animal Rescue successfully launched the second phase of its Capital Campaign and hosted its first large in-person fundraising gala, which raised approximately $50,000 while receiving tremendous community support and attendance. The organization also expanded its leadership team by hiring a full-time Marketing & Social Media Director to enhance fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, and community outreach.Operationally, the organization relocated into a significantly larger leased facility, allowing for improved rescue operations and increased capacity. A portion of the facility's rent is generously subsidized by the property owner, providing meaningful financial support to the organization. One of the year's most significant accomplishments was receiving unanimous approval (7-0) from the City of Durango for a Conditional Use Permit and Variance for Parker's Animal Rescue's future permanent facility. The public hearing was attended by a large number of community supporters who voiced their support for the project. Two days later, the organization completed the purchase of its permanent property and began assembling the professional design and engineering team to initiate the site planning and development process for its future rescue campus.
