Mission
THE FAMILY LITERACY ACADEMY AT LAKE WALES PROVIDES A FULLY INTEGRATED, COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM CONCENTRATING ON ADULTS THAT SEEK TO COMPLETE THEIR GED/ESOL PROGRAM.
Program accomplishments
- THE ACADEMY HAS HELPED SOME 2,000 ADULTS AND CHILDREN BECOME BETTER CITIZENS PREPARED FOR LIFE BY OFFERING INSTRUCTION TOWARDS THEIR GED OR BECOMING PROFICIENT IN ENGLISH. UP TO 149 OF THESE ADULTS HAVE ALREADY PASSED THE GED AND A NUMBER OF THEM HAVE ENROLLED IN COLLEGE.Expenses $150,885
