Mission

TO PROVIDE GROUNDBREAKING PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO FOSTER CREATIVITY, JOY, POSSIBILITY AND LEARNING FOR THE CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY.

Program accomplishments

  • MINDFULNESS ZONE - THROUGHOUT 2025, OUR MINDFULNESS ZONE PROGRAM CONTINUED TO GROW, CONSISTENTLY SERVING 17 SCHOOLS AND REACHING NEARLY 7,800 STUDENTS. THIRTEEN SCHOOLS NOW HAVE DEDICATED MINDFULNESS ZONE ROOMS, WHICH ARE USED NOT ONLY FOR LOOP IT UP PROGRAMMING BUT ALSO BY SCHOOL COUNSELORS, TEACHERS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO SUPPORT STUDENT WELLNESS. IN ADDITION TO THESE SPACES WE HAVE CALM CORNERS IN 20 CLASSROOMS PROVIDING TEACHERS DAILY CLASSROOM SEL SUPPORT RESOURCES. OUR MINDFULNESS ZONE WORK EXPANDED INTO SEVERAL FORMATS TO MEET THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF EACH SCHOOL COMMUNITY. WE PROVIDED 15 SCHOOLS WITH THE RESOURCES AND TRAINING NEEDED TO IMPLEMENT MINDFUL MONDAY, A SIMPLE WEEKLY WELLNESS PRACTICE THAT SCHOOLS CAN INTEGRATE INTO THEIR ROUTINES. IN ADDITION, WE FACILITATED SMALL-GROUP SESSIONS AT TWO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL-WIDE, CLASSROOM-BASED SESSIONS AT ONE SCHOOL. IN 2025, WE ALSO PILOTED A WHOLE-SCHOOL VERSION OF OUR SEL PROGRAMMING, ALLOWING LOOP IT UP TO PERSONALLY BRING MINDFULNESS AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES TO EVERY STUDENT IN THE SCHOOL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THIS MODEL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS, DEMONSTRATING THE IMPACT OF CONSISTENT, SCHOOL-WIDE ENGAGEMENT. IN 2025 WE PILOTED THE WELCOME PROJECT AT TWO LOCATIONS, EXTENDING OUR MINDFULNESS PROGRAMMING BEYOND ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TO INCLUDE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH WITH AGE-APPROPRIATE TOOLS FOR GROUNDING, EMOTIONAL REGULATION, AND COMMUNITY CONNECTION FINALLY, THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH RESILIENT COASTAL GEORGIA, WE BEGAN SHARING THE MINDFULNESS ZONE PROGRAM WITH SCHOOLS IN EFFINGHAM COUNTY, BROADENING OUR REGIONAL IMPACT.

IT WAS CAREFULLY DESIGNED TO EXPOSE STUDENTS TO MULTIPLE FORMS OF CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND TO SUPPORT LITERACY DEVELOPMENT IN DIVERSE WAYS. THIS PILOT WAS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH SAVANNAH ARTS ACADEMY'S AP SPANISH STUDENTS, WHO SUPPORTED WEEKLY KINDERGARTEN LLT SESSIONS BY OFFERING TRANSLATION SERVICES AND BUILDING MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH SPANISH SPEAKING AND BILINGUAL LEARNERS.
