Mission

The mission of the Broken Wall is to love God and love our neighbors in West Baltimore.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • We invest in the improvement of our community for the benefit of our neighbors in West Baltimore. We have improved our community and neighbors in various ways. We invested in the youth of our community through a weekly open community time where 20-30 youth come to have a meal, play basketball and bingo, and are safe and socially and emotionally well. Twice weekly we ran a business, mindfulness and fitness program called THRIVE for 15-20, which taught youth how to start their own business and kept them active, thus investing in their physical, cognitive, and social emotional well-being. We also hosted an outdoor club for youth called Fernway which invited 10-15 youth to discover the outdoors through adventure and instruction. We also invested in individuals and families in our community who had basic needs such as shelter, clothing, or food. We continued to work alongside our local school through investment into their 90 staff and the playground which needed repair. We supported the grassroots school PTO in their family engagement work with the families of the 500 students. We also began coalition building work with 5-10 similar community organizations in our community for the goal of working together to eradicate child poverty in our city.
    Expenses $119,928 · grants $2,000
  • We worship the triune Christian God and disciple followers of Jesus who gather in God's name. Our weekly gathered worship of 15-20 people at the school and in the neighborhood in which we serve in West Baltimore, our weekly accessible prayer meetings online of 8-10 and mentoring of 10-15 are of paramount value in preparation for serving our neighbors in West Baltimore with love, respect, and kindness.
    Expenses $119,928
  • We reduced the investment into the prior year's third program accomplishment and diverted towards the first two, such that we now have two main program accomplishments to report.0
