Mission

Our mission is to equip families and communities with tools and knowledge to reduce exposure to indoor air pollution including wildfire smoke mold and other airborne toxins. We work nationally with Tribal Nations Alaska Native villages and underserved populations who face disproportionate environmental health risks.

Program accomplishments

  • Funded by the EPA under the Tulalip Tribes and Philanthropy Northwest Air Matters THHN operates as a technical assistance hub and knowledge-sharing network. It offers training community-based research and culturally relevant interventions to improve housing conditions in Tribal and vulnerable population communities.
    Expenses $482,773
  • We offer two main toolkit programs: AirMatters Kits address general indoor air quality issues like mold dust and inadequate ventilation. SmokeMatters Kits provide protection from wildfire smoke and heavy particulate pollution. These kits are practical low-cost and user-friendly enabling families to promptly enhance their home air quality while broader remediation efforts progress.
    Expenses $76,612 · revenue $57,994
  • SmokeMatters Kits provide protection from wildfire smoke and heavy particulate pollution. Each year the EPA distributes and offers training to multiple tribes focusing on the most impacted communities. This initiative is part of our two primary categories but operates as a distinct annual effort with costs allocated within the main categories.0
