Mission
Treasure Valley Roller Derby (TVRD) mission is to serve women, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals through the exhilarating sport of roller derby. We invite and welcome individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity to experience the community that TVRD and roller derby provide in offering a safe, inclusive and supportive space for all. TVRD is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who are committed to our mission of empowerment and community improvement.
Program accomplishments
- 1.TVRD experienced tremendous growth in 2025, expanding membership sufficient to sustain three teams and submitting a second team for WFTDA sanctioning. TVRD hosted three (3) events; a showcase for all the derby leagues in our community, the revival of our Spudtown Knockdown Tournament, and five (5) additional home games. The Gem State Jammin Showcase, allowed the Treasure Valleys co-ed, juniors, and sister leagues to showcase their membership and programs as well as expose them to the diversity of other leagues, officials, and programs offered. The Revival of Spudtown Knockdown, stretched over a weekend, brought three teams from the Western United States, bringing an influx of athletic talent and officials from across the nation to experience Boise.2. This year TVRD focused heavily on the development of the new skaters program, exposing approximately 100 new skaters to our inclusive roller derby community and drafting onto teams approximately 20 skaters who bring an exceptionally diverse injection into our local roller derby community. With the growth in membership, TVRD was able to donate approximately 500 hours to the sustainability of our organization and toward strengthening and development of our community through volunteer and partnership; specifically partnering with other local charitable organizations. TVRD was also able to continue their dedication to making charitable cash donations to other charitable organizations.3. Traveling to other teams is a necessary expense in the world of roller derby. TVRD exists on an island being the only WFTDA sanctioned team in Idaho. This does mean TVRD must travel out of the state to compete. To ensure the skaters are now wholly responsible for the costs of this travel, TVRD set an astounding fundraising goal of $30K. This $30K is 100% designated to fund our skaters lodging for away games, which is necessary when securing opponents to come to Boise. TVRD has a supportive fan base that is both dedicated and generous having contributed to a significant portion of the $30K goal. TVRD also participated for the first time in Idaho Gives and ran a very successful campaign to include winning prizes for the most contributions and contributions from all 50 states. TVRD fell just a few hundred dollars shy of that goal in 2025. Nevertheless, 2025 has been our most successful year for fundraising and increasing membership.Expenses $66,270
