Program accomplishments
- IN 2024, THE AMERICAN DENTAL THERAPY ASSOCIATION (ADTA) CONTINUED TO ADVANCE ITS MISSION OF EXPANDING ACCESS TO ORAL HEALTHCARE AND SUPPORTING THE DENTAL THERAPY PROFESSION THROUGH EDUCATION, COLLABORATION, AND ADVOCACY. WE HOSTED THE ADTA ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA, BRINGING TOGETHER NEARLY 100 DENTAL THERAPY ADVOCATES, DENTAL THERAPISTS, DENTISTS, AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS FROM FLORIDA AND SURROUNDING STATES. THE EVENT FOCUSED ON INCREASING ACCESS TO CARE THROUGH THE UTILIZATION AND EXPANSION OF DENTAL THERAPISTS.LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) DEVELOPMENT: LAUNCHED A CONTINUING EDUCATION (CQ) LMS TO HOST PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONTENT.ESTABLISHED A MONTHLY WEBINAR PROGRAM, FREE FOR ADTA MEMBERS AND AT A NOMINAL FEE FOR NON-MEMBERS.INTEGRATED ANNUAL CONFERENCE PROGRAMS (UP TO TWO YEARS OF CONTENT) FOR ONGOING PROFESSIONAL ACCESS.SPONSORSHIP AND REVENUE OPPORTUNITIES: DEVELOPED A STRUCTURED SPONSORSHIP FRAMEWORK TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS, EVENTS, AND MEMBER PROGRAMMING.NATIONAL DENTAL THERAPY COMPENSATION SURVEY: DESIGNED AND INITIATED A NATIONWIDE COMPENSATION SURVEY TO COLLECT DATA ON DENTAL THERAPIST EMPLOYMENT, WAGES, AND BENEFITS ACROSS THE U.S.EDUCATIONAL SURVEYS: DEVELOPED AND DISTRIBUTED 1 OF 3 PLANNED SURVEYS ON MINIMALLY INVASIVE DENTISTRY (MID) AND MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF CARIES (MMC). THIS WAS PROMPTED BY DENTAL THERAPISTS' VERBAL TESTIMONY INDICATING THAT, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE TAUGHT MID AND MMC IN DENTAL THERAPY PROGRAMS, MANY ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY SUPERVISING DENTISTS TO APPLY THESE APPROACHES IN PRACTICE. THE SURVEY AIMS TO ASSESS EDUCATION AND PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION ACROSS PROGRAMS.DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION INITIATIVES: HOSTED A DEI-FOCUSED WEBINAR FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS LED BY DR.
