Mission
OUR MISSION IS TO CONNECT, SUPPORT, AND EDUCATE INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE FACING CANCER AND OTHER DISEASES BY FOCUSING ON STRATEGIES THAT HELP TO REBUILD THE BODY, RENEW THE SOUL, AND REFRESH THE SPIRIT THROUGH GOD'S WORD.
Program accomplishments
- HEALINGSTRONG IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY SUZY GRISWOLD IN 2013 FOLLOWING HER PERSONAL BATTLE WITH CANCER. OUT OF THAT JOURNEY CAME A DEEP CONVICTION: A RADICAL SHIFT WAS NEEDED IN HOW INDIVIDUALS APPROACH HEALING AND WELLNESS. HEALINGSTRONG WAS CREATED TO SERVE LOCAL COMMUNITIES BY OFFERING COMPREHENSIVE,COMMUNITY-BASED EDUCATION WITHIN SUPPORTIVE GROUP SETTINGS. AT ITS CORE, HEALINGSTRONG EXISTS TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS FACING CANCER AND OTHER CHRONIC ILLNESSES TO REBUILD THEIR BODIES, RENEW THEIR SOULS, AND REFRESH THEIR SPIRITS THROUGH GOD'S WORD. THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES A HOLISTIC, THREE-PILLAR APPROACH-EMBRACING HEALING AS A LIFESTYLE RATHER THAN A DESTINATION. TO CARRY OUT THIS MISSION, HEALINGSTRONG IS SUPPORTED BY A DEDICATED NETWORK OF MORE THAN 250 VOLUNTEERS NATION-WIDE WHO LEAD LOCAL HEALINGSTRONG GROUPS AND HELP SUSTAIN THE ORGANIZATION'S EFFORTS. THESE GROUPS MEET IN A VARIETY OF SETTINGS, INCLUDING HOMES, COMMUNITY SPACES, AND ONLINE PLATFORMS, CREATING ACCESSIBLE ENVIRONMENTS FOR CONNECTION AND GROWTH. THE CURRICULUM USED WITHIN THESE GROUPS IS THOUGHTFULLY DEVELOPED,REVIEWED,AND PUBLISHED BY THE HEALINGSTRONG TEAM AND IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH, SPANISH, AND ITALIAN. WHAT SETS HEALINGSTRONG APART IS ITS INTEGRATION OF FAITH AND ITS INTENTIONAL SUPPORT FOR GROUP LEADERS. THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUVERSION, HEALINGSTRONG BIBLE STUDIES AND READING PLANS HAVE REACH MORE THAN 900,000 PEOPLE WORLDWIDE. EACH GROUP LEADER IS PAIRED WITH A VOLUNTEER MENTOR WHO PROVIDES ONGOING GUIDANCE, ENCOURAGEMENT, AND RESOURCES. LEADERS ALSO RECEIVE CONTINUOUS TRAINING THOUGH MONTHLY ZOOM CALLS AND HAVE ACCESS TO AN EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESOURCE PORTAL THAT INCLUDES WEBINARS, EBOOKS, VIDEOS, LESSON PLANS, AND LEADER GUIDES. IN ADDITION, TRAINED VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS ARE AVAILABLE TO OFFER EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT TO GROUP LEADERS. WHILE HEALINGSTRONG IS PRIMARILY VOLUNTEER-LED,A SMALL BUT COMMITTED SUPPORT STAFF HELPS GUIDE DAILY OPERATIONS AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES: SUZY GRISWOLD, FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR JANET EVERHART, GROUP LEADER COORDINATOR MYA METZEL, DIGITAL MEDIA AND PARTNER ENGAGEMENT ADDITIONAL CONTRACTED PROFESSIONALS PROVIDE SUPPORT IN WEB AND IT SERVICES, VIRTUAL ADMINISTRATION, ACCOUNTING, AND PODCAST PRODUCTION, ROUNDING OUT THE HOME OFFICE TEAM. HEALINGSTRONG IS FURTHER STRENGTHENED BY A DEDICATED BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHO PROVIDE GOVERNANCE, OVERSIGHT, AND STRATEGIC DIRECTION. IN 2025, HEALINGSTRONG SAW SIGNIFICANT GROWTH AND IMPACT. GROUP RETENTION INCREASED BY 75%, AND THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTED 227 REGISTERED GROUP LEADERS ACCROSS BOTH DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES. THE TEAM ALSO EXPANDED ITS PRESENCE BY PARTICIPATING IN CONFERENCES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, INCLUDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE ANNIE APPLESEED CONFERENCE, THE BELJANSKI CONFERENCE, AND THE FAITH IN MEDICINE CONFERENCE, HELPING TO RAISE AWARENESS AND CONNECT WITH NEW LEADERS AND PARTICIPANTS. THE SAME YEAR, HEALINGSTRONG HOSTED A FREE, 10-DAY ONLINE SUMMIT WITH TWICE-DAILY SESSIONS TO ACCOMMODATE GLOBAL TIME ZONES, REACHING MORE THAN 4,500 PARTICIPANTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO LAUNCHED A NEW PODCAST, AROUND THE WORD, WHICH HAS ALREADY ENGAGED THOUSANDS OF LISTENERS. MEANWHILE, THE I AM HEALINGSTRONG PODCAST CONTINUES TO GROW, APPROACHING 100,000 DOWNLOADS. AS HEALINGSTRONG LOOKS AHEAD, THE TEAM IS ACTIVELY REBRANDING AND ENHANCING ITS WEBSITE, POSITIONING THE ORGANIZATION FOR CONTINUED GROWTH AND AN EVEN GREATER IMPACT IN THE YEAR TO COME.Expenses $444,540
