  • Statement 1: The SISI Small PEARLS Lead Academy Program Impact During the 20242025 academic year, The SISI Small PEARLS Lead Academy achieved a historic milestone by enrolling 70 participants, the largest class in the Academy's 13-year history. Monthly leadership development sessions were held from September 2024 through May 2025 at the Life Enrichment Center (LEC) of Wake Chapel Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, providing a consistent environment for experiential learning, leadership development, mentoring, and community engagement. The Academy proudly celebrated the graduation of four high school seniors, each continuing their educational journey through higher education. Since its founding, the Academy has remained committed to preparing young women for academic excellence, leadership, civic engagement, and lifelong success.A hallmark of the year was the 5th Annual Small PEARLS Lead Conference, The SISI's signature community leadership event, which welcomed more than 350 girls, parents, mentors, and community leaders. The conference delivered a full day of leadership development, exposure to accomplished women leaders, experiential learning opportunities, and personal growth. Corporate partners Cisco and Coastal Federal Credit Union provided generous sponsorships that enabled the Academy to provide meals for attendees, parents, volunteers, and distinguished guest speakers, ensuring broad community access regardless of financial circumstance. The conference continues to serve as one of The SISI's premier investments in the next generation of women leaders and reflects the organization's enduring commitment to strengthening the community through education, leadership, mentorship, and opportunity.Beyond its structured programming, The SISI continues to provide individualized support to students and families. During this reporting period, the Executive Director prepared 32 letters of recommendation for Academy participants pursuing admission to colleges, universities, scholarships, leadership programs, and other educational opportunities. This personalized mentorship reflects The SISI's long-term investment in the academic and professional advancement of every Small PEARL. As The SISI Small PEARLS Lead Academy enters its second decade of service, it continues to expand its leadership pipeline, equipping young women with the confidence, character, global perspective, and practical skills necessary to become future leaders, changemakers, and community builders.
  • Statement 2: The SISI Organizational Operations and Administrative Infrastructure During the reporting period, The SISI continued to operate from its national headquarters located at 4801 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 200, Raleigh, North Carolina. The headquarters serves as the administrative and operational hub for the organization's leadership development, healthcare access initiatives, advocacy efforts, strategic planning, fiscal management, communications, and community engagement activities.Internal UseTo ensure the efficient delivery of programs and responsible stewardship of organizational resources, The SISI maintained business relationships with a variety of professional service providers and operational vendors that support its day-to-day activities. These include providers of office supplies, technology, telecommunications, insurance, storage, printing, website management, digital communications, payment processing, and business operations, including Costco, Amazon, Staples, Bee Safe Storage, Spectrum, Verizon, U.S. Liability Insurance, Office Evolution, Zoom, Google Fiber, Signature Pins, Wix.com, Bludomain, PayPal, and other vendors as necessary to support the organization's ongoing operations. These operational investments provide the infrastructure necessary for The SISI to effectively administer its charitable programs, strengthen organizational capacity, maintain fiscal accountability, and advance its mission of expanding healthcare access, developing women and girls as leaders, and driving systems-level advocacy and community impact.
  • Statement 3: The SISI Hosted National Healthcare Access Initiative and Collaborative Transportation Think TankOn December 5, 2025, The SISI convened the inaugural Collaborative Transportation Think Tank Summit in Jacksonville, Florida, on the campus of Florida Blue, bringing together 42 national, regional, and local organizations representing healthcare systems, transportation providers, government agencies, philanthropy, community organizations, insurers, and strategic partners to address one of the nation's most persistent barriers to healthcare: transportation access for uninsured and underinsured patients. The Jacksonville Nonprofit Hospital Partnership was primary sponsor and included Mayo Clinic, University of Florida Health, Baptist, Ascension and Brooks Rehabilitation. Conceived, designed, and led by Terry W. Spicer, Founder and Executive Director of The SISI, the Summit advanced a first-of-its-kind collaborative framework focused on improving equitable access to healthcare through coordinated transportation infrastructure rather than isolated transportation services. With years of experience in the industry, The SISI addressed barriers affecting patients across the continuum of care, including preventive services, specialty care, chronic disease management, cancer treatment, behavioral health, rehabilitation, and other essential medical services. The Summit served as a strategic forum for cross-sector collaboration, systems planning, and the development of sustainable solutions designed to reduce missed medical appointments, improve health outcomes, strengthen community partnerships, and advance healthcare equity. Participating organizations engaged in collaborative planning around innovative models that leverage existing transportation assets, healthcare resources, public-private partnerships, and data-informed decision-making to create long-term systemic change. As a direct outcome of this initiative, The SISI developed a pioneering Mobility Health Infrastructure Model that is scheduled for implementation in Jacksonville during 2026. The demonstration project is designed to serve as a scalable national model that can be replicated in communities across the United States, positioning The SISI as a national leader in advancing innovative, collaborative solutions that improve healthcare access for underserved populations. This initiative reflects The SISI's continued commitment to addressing complex social determinants of health through strategic leadership, public policy innovation, cross-sectorInternal Usecollaboration, and community-centered systems change that benefits patients, healthcare providers, and communities alike. Our vendors for this event included FLK International Catering, Florida Blue, Bracy Photography, Balloon Construction and Events and others. It was a smashing success and gamechanger that will impact patients for years to come.
