Mission

To create the opportunity for permanent affordable housing by preserving land held in trust in Moab city, Grand County, and Northern San Juan County.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • To create the opportunity for permanently affordable housing by preserving land held in trust in Moab City, Grand County, and northern San Juan County. During 2024, the land trust supervised the installation of infrastructure and housing units for a 40-acre affordable housing project in Grand County Utah called Arroyo Crossing. At the end of 2024, there were 46 built and occupied homes, 98 homes under construction, and 5 homes in the predevelopment process. When completed, Arroyo Crossing will provide 300 units for workforce housing including single family homes, townhomes, and apartments. The land trust leases the land for this project to Arroyo Crossing, an affiliated 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, to facilitate this program; this corporation sells leasehold interest to housing development partners and donates the revenue to the land trust. In 2024, the Arroyo Crossing corporation sold leasehold interest for 91 homes, resulting in an abnormally high amount of revenue earned by the land trust.
