Mission

WE ENVISION A WORLD WHERE EVERY CHILD, ADOLESCENT AND YOUNG PERSON IS SAFE, PROTECTED AND THRIVING. EVERY PERSON, INCLUDING EVERY CHILD AND ADOLESCENT, HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE FREE FROM VIOLENCE AND EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY IN MAKING THIS A REALITY. TO ACHIEVE THIS, WE MUST FOCUS ON ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. WE BRING SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE NEEDS OF ADOLESCENT GIRLS - WHO OFTEN FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS OF EFFORTS TO ADDRESS CHILDREN AND WOMEN - AND A STRONG FOCUS ON SEXUAL VIOLENCE, IN ALL ITS FORMS.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • TOGETHER FOR GIRLS (TFG) ADVANCES FOUR INTERCONNECTED INITIATIVES TO ENSURE EVERY CHILD AND ADOLESCENT IS SAFE, PROTECTED, AND THRIVING.DATA TO ACTION: THE VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND YOUTH SURVEYS (VACS) PROVIDE ESSENTIAL DATA TO UNDERSTAND THE SCOPE, NATURE, AND IMPACT OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS. THIS DATA INFORMS EVIDENCE-BASED STRATEGIES, STRENGTHENS NATIONAL SYSTEMS, AND SUPPORTS GOVERNMENTS AND PARTNERS TO IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE PREVENTION AND RESPONSE EFFORTS. SAFE FUTURES HUB: THIS GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE PLATFORM CURATES AND SHARES PROVEN STRATEGIES AND TOOLS TO PREVENT AND RESPOND TO VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN. IT FACILITATES PEER LEARNING AND COLLABORATION AMONG GOVERNMENTS, CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS, RESEARCHERS, AND MULTILATERAL PARTNERS TO SCALE UP EFFECTIVE, EVIDENCE-INFORMED PROGRAMS AND POLICIES.OUT OF THE SHADOWS INDEX (OOSI): THE OOSI TRACKS AND BENCHMARKS HOW COUNTRIES ARE ADDRESSING CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION ACROSS KEY DOMAINS, INCLUDING POLICY FRAMEWORKS, SUPPORT SERVICES, AND PREVENTION INITIATIVES. BY COMPILING AND SHARING COMPARABLE DATA, THE INDEX PROMOTES TRANSPARENCY, ENABLES CROSS-COUNTRY LEARNING, AND ENCOURAGES INVESTMENT IN EFFECTIVE NATIONAL SYSTEMS.BRAVE INITIATIVE: THE BRAVE INITIATIVE BRINGS TOGETHER SURVIVORS AND ALLIES TO STRENGTHEN COLLECTIVE ACTION AND ADVANCE ACCOUNTABILITY AND PREVENTION EFFORTS. IT DRAWS ON TFG'S DATA, SOLUTIONS, AND PARTNERSHIPS TO PROMOTE EVIDENCE-BASED POLICIES AND SUSTAINED COMMITMENT TO ENDING VIOLENCE.TOGETHER, THESE INITIATIVES CREATE A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY THAT COMBINES DATA, EVIDENCE, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND SURVIVOR LEADERSHIP TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY SEXUAL VIOLENCE.
