OUR PURPOSE IS TO ADVANCE A PROGRESSIVE AGENDA FOR JUSTICE AND EQUITY FOR ALL CALIFORNIANS BY ENGAGING, MOBILIZING AND BUILDING THE LEADERSHIP OF YOUNG VOTERS OF COLOR AND THEIR FAMILIES BY PASSING PROGRESSIVE LEGISLATION AND TO A LESSER DEGREE, CANDIDATE ELECTIONS.

- SEE SCHEDULE OPOLICY: POWERCA ACTION SPONSORED FOUR BILLS, WITH TWO BILLS (THE SECURITY DEPOSITS AND VOTER PRE-REGISTRATION BILLS) CURRENTLY ADVANCING. WE ENGAGED WITH 25 LEGISLATIVE AIDES FROM 20 OFFICES, NEGOTIATED BILL LANGUAGE FOR THE SECURITY DEPOSITS BILL, LAUNCHED A POWER ADVOCATES PROGRAM TRAINING 10 YOUTH LEADERS, THREE OF WHOM JOINED SENATOR BUTLER'S YOUTH COUNCIL, AND HAD FOUR MEMBERS PROVIDE EXPERT TESTIMONY ON THREE BILLS AT THE CAPITOL.MEMBERSHIP AND ORGANIZING PROGRAM: WE ENGAGED AND MOBILIZED OVER 1,000 POWERCA ACTION MEMBERS AND CONTACTED MORE THAN 75,000 YOUNG VOTERS FOR THE 2024 ELECTION.LOCAL CAMPAIGNS: POWERCA ACTION HAS HIRED OVER 20 CANVASS TEAM LEADS AND CANVASSERS FOR CENTRAL VALLEY VOTER CONTACT CAMPAIGNS.NARRATIVE: WE IMPLEMENTED AN EARNED MEDIA STRATEGY TO TRAIN YOUTH SPOKESPEOPLE AND GENERATE MORE THAN 20 MEDIA HITS TO SHAPE THE NARRATIVE AROUND YOUNG VOTERS. POWERCA ACTION DEVELOPED AND DISTRIBUTED A YOUTH-FOCUSED VOTER GUIDE TO OVER 175,000 YOUNG BIPOC VOTERS, ENGAGING MORE THAN 500,000 YOUNG VOTERS ACROSS OUR DIGITAL CHANNELS. PRIMARY FIELD ALLIANCE CAMPAIGN: POWERCA ACTION BUILDS THE CAPACITY OF OVER 10 ALLIANCE PARTNERS, HELPING THEM HIRE STAFF AND RUN STATEWIDE VOTER CONTACT CAMPAIGNS.
