Mission
WORLD COFFEE RESEARCH UNITES THE GLOBAL COFFEE INDUSTRY TO DRIVE SCIENCE-BASED AGRICULTURAL SOLUTIONS TO URGENTLY SECURE A DIVERSE AND SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY OF QUALITY COFFEE TODAY AND FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. OUR MISSION IS TO GROW, PROTECT, AND ENHANCE SUPPLIES OF QUALITY COFFEE WHILE IMPROVING THE LIVELIHOODS OF THE FAMILIES THAT PRODUCE IT.

- COORDINATED, GLOBAL COFFEE BREEDING PROGRAMS FOR ARABICA AND ROBUSTA, IN COLLABORATION WITH 11 COUNTRIES. INTERNATIONAL MULTI-LOCATION COFFEE VARIETY TRIALS. GENETIC TOOLS TO REDUCE THE COST OF QUALITY ASSURANCE IN COFFEE VARIETY VERIFICATION. DEVELOPMENT OF BREEDING TOOLS TO REDUCE THE COST AND INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COFFEE BREEDING PROGRAMS IN DELIVERING GENETIC GAIN. CAPACITY STRENGTHENING OF COFFEE BREEDERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. PROFESSIONALIZATION OF COFFEE SEED SECTOR, INCLUDING COFFEE NURSERIES AND SEED PRODUCERS. COORDINATED GLOBAL INDUSTRY EVALUATION OF COFFEE QUALITY FROM PRODUCING COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD.
