Mission
THE MISSION OF THE SOUTHWEST NATIVE AMERICAN FOUNDATION IS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENTS OF NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBES IN THE SOUTHWESTERN U.S. WITH THE OPPORTUNITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION BY OFFERING SCHOLARSHIPS TO OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ENROLLED UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF THEIR BACKGROUND OR FINANCIAL SITUATION SHOULD HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY.
Program accomplishments
- STATISTICS CONSISTENTLY SHOW THAT MANY TALENTED NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS IN THE U.S. SOUTHWEST CHOOSE NOT TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION DUE TO A LACK OF FUNDS, RESOURCES, OR BOTH. THIS YEAR (2024) MARKS EIGHTEEN YEARS OF CHALLENGING THOSE STATISTICS BY CREATING MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS. IN THE LAST 18 YEARS, WE HAVE AWARDED OVER $500,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO MORE THAN 400 STUDENTS. THESE 400+ SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS CAN TESTIFY TO THE FACT THAT FINANCIAL SUPPORT GREATLY INCREASES INDIGENOUS STUDENTS' CHANCES OF EARNING A UNIVERSITY DEGREE. THEIR STORIES MATTER. THEIR EDUCATION MATTERS. THAT'S WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.Expenses $77,764 · grants $72,250
