Program accomplishments

  • Proviso East Alumni Association believes that every student deserves a chance. Our nonprofit 501(c)3 organization is committed to providing vital support and resources to current students and alumni of Proviso East High School with scholarships and sponsorships. We aim to ease financial burdens that have proven to limit students educational goals and therefore their economic advancement. We strive to create a more equitable future by bridging gaps and empowering our next generation. Proviso East Alumni Association has granted scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 dollars to graduating students from Proviso East High School who need financial assistance to transition from high school to two year or four year post secondary schools and trade and vocational schools. Not only does Proviso East Alumni Association help to enrich our students' lives, we give our donors the opportunity to reach back and give the community they grew up in and the school they graduated from the support many schools in underprivileged areas lack. Our donors are Proviso East Alumni. Each sets the criteria for his/her scholarship. 100% of their scholarship donations go to the students who meet their qualifications. Each donor personally presents a check to their student at a ceremony Proviso East Alumni Association hosts at Proviso East High School on Homecoming Weekend. Several of our donors travel from across the country to attend. They have an opportunity to meet with their students and families. Many have offered students future assistance. Our goal is to connect as many kids to sponsors as we can so that they can continue to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals. Our fundraisers raise money for operating expenses. We attend fairs, festivals, and school events to inform, guide, and motivate students to seek higher learning and achievement. Our goals include expanding our services and outreach so that more young people can learn that there is local help available and people who care.
