Mission
THE HOSPITAL EDUCATOR AND ACADEMIC LIAISON (HEAL) ASSOCIATION IS A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND FOSTER ONGOING COLLABORATION AMONG MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONALS TO ADVANCE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES AND ENSURE EQUITABLE ACCESS TO LEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS.
Program accomplishments
- THE HOSPITAL EDUCATOR AND ACADEMIC LIAISON (HEAL) ASSOCIATION HAS REMAINED DEEPLY COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS THROUGH A VARIETY OF IMPACTFUL INITIATIVES. THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, WHICH BROUGHT TOGETHER PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO ENGAGE IN MEANINGFUL LEARNING, SHARE BEST PRACTICES, AND EXPLORE INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES FOR SUPPORTING THIS UNIQUE STUDENT POPULATION. IN ADDITION TO THE CONFERENCE, HEAL FACILITATED MONTHLY EDCHATSVIRTUAL DISCUSSIONS THAT ALLOWED MEMBERS TO CONNECT, EXCHANGE IDEAS, AND DEEPEN THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF RELEVANT TOPICS IN THE FIELD. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO BEGAN EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR REGIONAL MEETUPS TO PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH CHANCES TO CONNECT LOCALLY, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS, AND FOSTER COLLABORATION WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES. TO KEEP MEMBERS INFORMED AND ENGAGED, HEAL DISTRIBUTED MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS FEATURING ORGANIZATIONAL UPDATES, UPCOMING EVENTS, CURATED RESOURCES, AND HIGHLIGHTS FROM RECENT ACTIVITIES. THESE EFFORTS REFLECT HEAL'S ONGOING DEDICATION TO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, INTERDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION, AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES FOR STUDENTS NAVIGATING MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES.
