Mission
After Hours Film Society programs feature foreign, art, and independent films. Each screening is followed by a lecture or group discussion led by a filmmaker, film critic, film educator or other film professional. For the benefit of an average audience of 350 people (pre-pandemic), it supports our mission of encouraging the appreciation of film both as an art form and as a medium of information and education.
Program accomplishments
- Produced an international virtual Student Film Festival comprising the top films from 71 entries from around the world. The program is available for viewing on the After Hours Film Society's website at afterhoursfilmsociety.comExpenses $2,300
- A total of 24 in-person screenings were held in 2024, benefitting 4,764 attendees. Each program was preceded by a live Mighty Wurlitzer organ concert and followed by a post-screening discussion led by a film critic or professional.Expenses $16,113
