Mission
ORGANIZATION'S MAIN PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO THE BOYS IN JUAB COUNTY TO PRACTICE WRESTLING AND PARTICIPATE IN TOURNAMENTS AND WRESTLING CAMPS AT AN AFFORDABLE COST OR NO COST.
Program accomplishments
- THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT OF JWC IS PROVIDING WRESTLERS WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO TRAIN AND COMPETE WITH THE LEVEL OF PRIVATE CLUB COACHING AND TOURNAMENTS, WHILE STILL KEEPING COSTS AT RECREATIONAL CLUB PRICES. JWC IS COMMITTED TO BEING AFFORDABLE FOR ALL KIDS WHILE ALSO PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR QUALIFIED WRESTLERS TO COMPETE IN SOME OF THE MOST COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENTS IN THE COUNTRY. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 6 COACHES WHO WRESTLED DIVISION I, ALONG WITH 7 OTHER COACHES WHO ARE DEDICATED TO LEARNING, GROWING, AND GIVING BACK TO THE SPORT. OUR COACHING STAFF IS INTENTIONALLY DIVIDED BY AGE GROUP: LITTLE LEAGUE (K-3RD GRADE): 3 DEDICATED COACHES. JUNIOR HIGH (4TH-8TH GRADE): 5 DEDICATED COACHES. HIGH SCHOOL (9TH-12TH GRADE): 5 DEDICATED COACHES. SPRING/FALL SEASONS: A SMALLER STAFF OF 5 COACHES LEADS K-12 AS ONE COMBINED GROUP. FOR LITTLE LEAGUE AND JUNIOR HIGH, WE PRIORITIZE TIME ON THE MAT OVER WINS TO HELP KIDS DEVELOP A LOVE FOR THE SPORT WITHOUT OVEREMPHASIZING WINNING TOO EARLY. AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL (JW), ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND COMPETITIVE SUCCESS ARE RECOGNIZED MORE DIRECTLY. KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS BY MONTH JANUARY CLUB GROWTH: JWC SAW A RECORD NUMBER OF YOUTH TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANTS, MOVING BETWEEN THE 2ND AND 3RD BIGGEST WRESTLING CLUB IN THE STATE. HIGH SCHOOL (JW): 2ND PLACE AT THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS (VERNAL) WITH 11 INDIVIDUAL PLACERS. 3 WRESTLERS INVITED TO THE UVU ALL STARS MATCHES. DEFEATED THE 1 RANKED UTAH TEAM (LAYTON HIGH SCHOOL) IN A DUAL, 35-34.1ST PLACE TEAM AT THE DAVIE SWENSEN INVITE WITH 14 PLACERS. YOUTH (JWC):PLACED 2ND AT UTAH STATE CLUB DUALS AGAINST PRIVATE CLUBS FOUR TIMES OUR SIZE.4TH PLACE AT LITTLE LEAGUE STATE WITH 34 FIRST/SECOND-YEAR WRESTLERS.1ST PLACE AT THE 2025 JUNIOR HIGH STATE. PARTICIPATED IN THE BEEHIVE BRAWL NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. FEBRUARY HIGH SCHOOL (JW): 1ST PLACE AT DIVISIONALS WITH 25 STATE QUALIFIERS. HIGH SCHOOL (JW): 2025 HIGH SCHOOL STATE 9X CONSECUTIVE STATE CHAMPIONS. YOUTH (JWC): SUPER STATE PLACERS FOR JWC YOUTH. MARCH RENO NATIONALS: TOOK OVER 15 WRESTLERS; BROUGHT HOME THE 2ND PLACE TEAM TROPHY, 9 ALL-AMERICANS, 3 FINALISTS, AND 1 CHAMPION. UTAH SUMMER GAMES: 30 COMPETITORS WITH NUMEROUS PLACINGS AND 3 "TRIPLE CROWN" WINNERS (WINNING ALL 3 STYLES). NATIONAL REPRESENTATION: 4 JWC WRESTLERS COMPETED FOR TEAM UTAH AT THE HEARTLAND DUALS NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS. OTHER: 2ND PLACE AT SPRING LITTLE LEAGUE STATE AND COMPETED IN THE INTER- MOUNTAIN WARRIOR. MAY - JULY US OPEN (MAY): 8 WRESTLERS COMPETED IN LAS VEGAS; EARNED ONE ALL-AMERICAN AND FINALISTS. NATIONAL DUALS (JUNE): 3 BOYS SENT TO 16U AND JUNIOR NATIONAL DUALS AS PART OF TEAM UTAH. CAMPS (JUNE): SPONSORED OVER 28 HIGH SCHOOL KIDS TO ATTEND CAMP AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING. FARGO NATIONALS (JULY): 3 WRESTLERS SENT; ONE DOUBLE ALL-AMERICAN (GRECO AND FREESTYLE) AND FINALIST, PLACING 2ND IN GRECO AND 5TH IN FREESTYLE. AWARDS: JW HAD A REGIONAL WINNER FOR OVERALL UPPER WEIGHTS (MID UTAH RADIO AWARD). OCTOBER - DECEMBER ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONALS (OCT): ONE 4TH PLACE WRESTLER IN VEGAS. SUPER 32 (OCT): 2 COMPETITORS; ONE ALL-AMERICAN PLACING 8TH. PREPARATION (NOV): JWC SPONSORS A 24-HOUR WORKOUT (EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR) FOR HIGH SCHOOL BOYS.
