Mission

THE YMCA'S MISSION IS TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • HEALTHY LIVING AT THE GRANT COUNTY FAMILY YMCA, HEALTHY LIVING IS ABOUT MORE THAN EXERCISEIT'S ABOUT STRENGTHENING SPIRIT, MIND, AND BODY WHILE BUILDING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. AS HEALTH CONCERNS SUCH AS OBESITY, CHRONIC DISEASE, SOCIAL ISOLATION, AND MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES CONTINUE TO IMPACT FAMILIES ACROSS OUR NATION, THE YMCA REMAINS A TRUSTED RESOURCE FOR WELLNESS, PREVENTION, AND SUPPORT. THIS YEAR, OUR YMCA EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT GROWTH, INCREASING TOTAL MEMBERSHIP FROM 4,560 MEMBERS AT THE END OF 2024 TO 4,982 MEMBERS AT THE END OF 2025, REPRESENTING A 9.3% INCREASE. GROWTH HAS CONTINUED INTO 2026, WITH MEMBERSHIP REACHING 5,316 BY MARCH 31. THROUGH MORE THAN 40 GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES EACH WEEK, WELLNESS PROGRAMS, PERSONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES, AND ACTIVE OLDER ADULT PROGRAMMING, WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE PATHWAYS FOR INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE. OUR COMMITMENT TO HEALTHY LIVING EXTENDS BEYOND OUR FACILITY WALLS. THROUGH OUR LEARN TO SWIM INITIATIVE, WE PROVIDED LIFE-SAVING WATER SAFETY EDUCATION TO MORE THAN 750 STUDENTS ACROSS TWO SCHOOL SYSTEMS, EXPANDING OUR PARTNERSHIP FROM MARION COMMUNITY SCHOOLS TO INCLUDE OAK HILL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. THIS EXPANSION REFLECTS OUR DEDICATION TO ENSURING MORE CHILDREN GAIN THE SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE NEEDED TO STAY SAFE AROUND WATER. WE ALSO CONTINUED TO OFFER SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS THAT MEET UNIQUE COMMUNITY NEEDS, INCLUDING STEADY STRONG CLASSES SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE, AQUACISE CLASSES SERVING ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS EACH WEEK, AND A GROWING VARIETY OF SPORTS AND RECREATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS. FROM YOUTH BASKETBALL AND TRACK PROGRAMS TO ADULT VOLLEYBALL, PICKLEBALL, AND OTHER RECREATIONAL OFFERINGS, THE YMCA CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR HEALTHY COMPETITION, RELATIONSHIP BUILDING, AND LIFELONG WELLNESS. REGARDLESS OF AGE, INCOME, BACKGROUND, OR ABILITY, THE YMCA REMAINS COMMITTED TO ENSURING THAT EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO PROGRAMS THAT STRENGTHEN THEIR HEALTH AND ENRICH THEIR LIVES.

  • YOUTH DEVELOPMENT DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF YOUNG PEOPLE REMAINS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO. THROUGH SAFE, SUPPORTIVE, AND VALUES-DRIVEN PROGRAMS, THE YMCA HELPS CHILDREN AND TEENS BUILD CONFIDENCE, CHARACTER, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND HEALTHY HABITS THAT WILL SERVE THEM THROUGHOUT THEIR LIVES. OUR BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE, SUMMER DAY CAMP, YOUTH SPORTS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS, AND YMCA YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT OPPORTUNITIES CONTINUE TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT GRANT COUNTY. DURING THE PAST YEAR, WE SERVED HUNDREDS OF YOUTH THROUGH OUR CHILDCARE AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS WHILE CONTINUING TO EXPAND OUR REACH THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. OUR LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM REACHED A RECORD LEVEL OF IMPACT BY SERVING MORE THAN 750 ELEMENTARY STUDENTS THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH MARION COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AND OAK HILL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS. THIS EXPANSION ALLOWED US TO PROVIDE CRITICAL WATER SAFETY EDUCATION AND SWIMMING INSTRUCTION TO MORE YOUTH THAN EVER BEFORE. YOUTH SPORTS PARTICIPATION CONTINUED TO GROW THROUGH BASKETBALL, TRACK AND FIELD, AND OTHER RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT PROMOTE TEAMWORK, SPORTSMANSHIP, CONFIDENCE, AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLES. OUR HOME SCHOOL GYM AND SWIM PROGRAM REMAINED A VALUABLE RESOURCE FOR LOCAL FAMILIES, PROVIDING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT, AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPPORTING TEENS, WE EXPANDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. TEEN MEMBERSHIP INCREASED FROM 209 MEMBERS AT THE END OF 2024 TO 279 MEMBERS AT THE END OF 2025 AND CONTINUED GROWING TO 297 MEMBERS BY MARCH 2026. ONE OF THE MOST IMPACTFUL DEVELOPMENTS WAS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUTH FOR CHRIST, BRINGING ADDITIONAL MENTORING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL TEENAGERS WITHIN OUR FACILITY. TO MEET GROWING COMMUNITY DEMAND, THE YMCA INVESTED IN ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING STAFF AND EXPANDED ITS CAPACITY TO DELIVER QUALITY EXPERIENCES FOR CHILDREN, TEENS, AND FAMILIES. THROUGH FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING OPTIONS, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, AND A COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY, WE CONTINUE TO ENSURE EVERY YOUNG PERSON HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN, GROW, AND THRIVE.

  • SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT THE GRANT COUNTY FAMILY YMCA, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY MEANS STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATIONS OF OUR COMMUNITY BY BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER, ADDRESSING COMMUNITY NEEDS, AND ENSURING OPPORTUNITIES REMAIN ACCESSIBLE TO ALL. WE CONTINUE TO REMOVE FINANCIAL BARRIERS THAT PREVENT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES FROM PARTICIPATING IN PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE HEALTH, WELL-BEING, AND QUALITY OF LIFE. DURING 2025, THE YMCA PROVIDED 401,940 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUBSIDIZED SERVICES THROUGH MEMBERSHIP ASSISTANCE, CHILDCARE SUPPORT, PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS, CORPORATE WELLNESS PARTNERSHIPS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY SUPPORT INITIATIVES. THESE RESOURCES HELP ENSURE THAT NO INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY IS EXCLUDED FROM YMCA PROGRAMS BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. BEYOND DIRECT ASSISTANCE, THE YMCA HAS EMERGED AS A KEY COMMUNITY PARTNER AND CONVENER. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE EXPANDED RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS, MUNICIPALITIES, BUSINESSES, CHURCHES, AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO INCREASE OUR COLLECTIVE IMPACT. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUTH FOR CHRIST CREATED ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEEN ENGAGEMENT AND MENTORSHIP, WHILE COLLABORATIONS WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS EXPANDED CRITICAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND WATER SAFETY PROGRAMMING. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ALSO REACHED NEW LEVELS THROUGH EVENTS THAT BROUGHT RESIDENTS TOGETHER AND FOSTERED CIVIC PRIDE. PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE, CORPORATE CHALLENGE, COMMUNITY WELLNESS INITIATIVES, AND NUMEROUS SPECIAL EVENTS EXPERIENCED SOME OF THE HIGHEST PARTICIPATION LEVELS IN YMCA RECENT HISTORY, CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONNECTION, BELONGING, AND COMMUNITY CELEBRATION. AS OUR IMPACT CONTINUES TO GROW, SO DOES OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE. DURING THE PAST YEAR, THE YMCA ADVANCED PLANS FOR A SECOND FACILITY IN GAS CITY THAT WILL EXPAND ACCESS TO YMCA PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THROUGHOUT GRANT COUNTY. SCHEDULED TO OPEN BY JUNE 1, 2027, THE NEW FACILITY IS PROJECTED TO INCREASE YMCA MEMBERSHIP BY APPROXIMATELY 1,170 MEMBERSHIP UNITS WHILE SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ACROSS THE REGION. THE YMCA HAS BECOME A TRUSTED VOICE IN CONVERSATIONS INVOLVING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH, YOUTH SERVICES, AND QUALITY-OF-LIFE INITIATIVES. BY WORKING ALONGSIDE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, BUSINESSES, AND PHILANTHROPIC PARTNERS, WE ARE HELPING CREATE A STRONGER, HEALTHIER, AND MORE CONNECTED GRANT COUNTY. TOGETHER, WE ARE BUILDING MORE THAN PROGRAMS AND FACILITIESWE ARE BUILDING A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERY PERSON HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO BELONG, CONTRIBUTE, AND THRIVE.
