Mission

THE ED KEATING CENTER PROVIDES A CHANCE FOR SOBER LIVING TO RECOVERING ALCOHOLIC, AND DRUG-ADDICTED, MEN AND WOMEN. OUR THREE NON-PROFIT SOBER LIVING FACILITIES ARE HOME TO ABOUT 150 MEN AND WOMEN AT A TIME.

990 for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • THE ED KEATING CENTER WAS FOUNDED ON THESE TWO ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES: A CHANCE FOR SOBER LIVING SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO ANY MAN OR WOMAN WITH SINCERE DESIRE TO OVERCOME THEIR ALCOHOLISM OR ADDICTION, WITHOUT REGARD FOR THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. THESE SERVICES SHOULD BE PROVIDED WITHOUT DIRECT ASSISTANCE FROM ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY, DEPENDING INSTEAD ON THE SUPPORT OF INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO BELIEVE IN COMMUNITIES HELPING THEMSELVES. THE KEATING CENTER OFFERS A VARIETY OF SERVICES: IT BEGINS WITH A THREE-MONTH IN-HOUSE SOBER LIVING PROGRAM IN WHICH RESIDENTS ATTEND GROUP MEETINGS FACILITATED BY EXPERIENCED RECOVERING ALCOHOLICS. RESIDENTS MUST GET AN AA SPONSOR AND ATTEND 12-STEP MEETINGS EVERY NIGHT. ONCE RESIDENTS COMPLETE THE SOBER LIVING PROGRAM, THEY ADVANCE TO OUR 3/4 TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM. THEY CONTINUE TO LIVE IN THE CENTERS SOBER ENVIRONMENT WHILE WORKING SO THEY CAN FINANCIALLY HELP THEMSELVES, AS WELL AS PAY A NOMINAL FEE TO HELP SUPPORT THE CENTERS PROGRAMS. THEY ATTEND SEVEN MANDATORY 12-STEP MEETINGS EACH WEEK, AS A REMINDER THAT STAYING SOBER MUST COME FIRST. ALSO, TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM RESIDENTS ATTEND MANDATORY AFTER-CARE MEETINGS ONCE A WEEK.
