Mission

Chevra USA exists to provide humanitarian aid to Jewish people, many of whom are elderly and Holocaust survivors, in the former Soviet Union, primarily Ukraine, Moldova and Poland, and in Israel. We operate soup kitchens and distribute food parcels to shut-ins, provide warm clothing, medicine and other necessities, and as much as possible, meet the spiritual needs of those we serve.

Program accomplishments

  • Israel Relief Aid (IRA) Accomplishment: We partnered with our sister organization in Israel to provide humanitarian aid to new immigrants, the elderly, the unemployed, impoverished Jews, Holocaust survivors, single mothers and the disabled in Israel. We have very little overhead to administer this service, so all donations received by Chevra USA designated for the IRA are disseminated to the IRA organization.

    Expenses $79,550 · grants $79,550
  • Poland (POL) Accomplishment: We support a full range of humanitarian services in Poland, funded through unrestricted donations. Support includes humanitarian aid to the elderly, Holocaust survivors and poor.
