Mission
Small dog animal rescue and sanctuary - our purpose is to rescue, care for and provide safe haven for neglected, unwanted, injured, abandoned and hospice owners' dogs
Program accomplishments
- Care and feeding of rescues - vet care, medical (includes dentals, spay/neuter) before they are ready for adoption/new families. Our primary purpose is to rescue and provide safe haven for neglected, unwanted, injured, abandoned and/or companion animals. Throughout the year, we rescue many, provide sanctuary for those in need no one else will take, and work with other rescues to save precious souls. Our success is built on the strong relationships and extraordinary support of our adopters, supported, partners and donors that enable us to perform this life-saving work for rescues. This year our expenses totaled $51,887.99 and we averaged 30 dogs throughout the year, to include our sanctuary dogs. During the year, we took 2 groups of rescues when the dog breeder fell ill and provided medical care, treatment and healing. Several have been adopted with those remaining requiring on-going medical care and treatment. When each dog comes into rescue, we spend an average of $750 for initial vet assessment, bloodwork, dental and vaccinations. Those needing additional medical attention like surgeries for mass removal, eye/ear infections, or other health issues run into thousands of dollars. Our goal remains to get each dog healthy or be treatable and happy resulting in a loving family of their own. Those who need more remain with us forever in sanctuary and are surrounded with love and get whatever they need for a safe, comfortable, quality of life. We are an all volunteer rescue and sanctuary. We continue to work with other rescues to bring big dogs in need into rescue and safety. Many dogs have found loving homes and are part of those families, some remain dreaming of their own families, and some have crossed the rainbow.Expenses $51,888 · grants $2,500
- Sanctuary. We average 13 sanctuary dogs. Many are with us for years, some only months, but they are well cared for, comfortable, happy with the freedom to enjoy life, and they know the love and compassion of a family. Medical issues range from heart, breathing, endocrine, deaf and blindness. They remain surrounded with love and no dog crosses the rainbow alone. Sanctuary expenses included $2500 sanctuary grant from the Community Foundation from Tennessee; remaining costs came from our budget. The sanctuary grant is included in our revenues; sanctuary expenses are included in our total expenses. Sanctuary expenses are included in total expenses.Expenses $51,888 · grants $2,500
