Program accomplishments

  • Academic Scholarships: Cover the cost of education related expenses for Haitian children in elementary and high school. Average tuition is $1800 per student per academic year. Our students are enrolled in multiple schools, and the tuition varies. Because we also cover the cost of non-tuition items (books, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, exam fees, registration fees, etc.) the total amount for each individual student varies depending on what their families are able to contribute. Also, the number of students fluctuates based on graduations and on some students failing to meet minimum standards. We started the year with 9 students. This year, with all of the political upheaval in the capital, some of our students had to retake their national exams more than once. Some students had to travel to different cities to take those exams which incurred travel expenses as well as the exam fees themselves.
    Expenses $29,950 · grants $29,950
  • Two years ago, thousands of people have fled the capital Port au Prince due to the failure of the government and the rise of gang rule. In 2024, our organization provided more than 50 such internally displace refugees with housing, food, and help with other expenses including medical needs. This is a continuation of similar aid for the refugees.
    Expenses $2,700 · grants $2,700
  • Health Care for out In-Country Coordinator. Our In-Country Coordinator had several health issues related to his gal bladder this year. We issued money to pay for these various medical bills which include several doctors' visits, medications, tests, scans, and ultimately, a surgery.
    Expenses $21,950 · grants $21,950
  • In October of 2025, Hurricane Melissa struck Haiti. We provided some direct relief for the families of our students a well as for some of the internally displaced refugees that we had helped in the past. This relief was in the form of food and renting temporary shelter.
