Mission

The Moose Pond Association seeks to protect the health of Moose Pond by educating lake owners, testing the water and hiring boat inspectors to prevent invasive species from infesting the lake.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Courtesy Boat Inspectors and Water Testing. Through LEA we hire boat inspectors that work at hte public boat ramps and inspect boats coming in and out of the lake for invasive species. Additionally we pay LEA to do comprehensive water testing on the lake to use in education and to help track and remedy any issues.
    Expenses $28,104 · grants $5,000
  • Donation to LEA. We donate to LEA to support their work that impacts lakes across Maine. We leverage a lot of their education materials and their expertise.

  • Boat Washing Stations. We coordinate the opening of the boat wash stations and we pay the utilities needed to keep them operational. These stations offer boaters the ability to clean their boats before and after going into the lake to prevent invasive species fragments from being moved from one lake to another.
