Mission

Our mission is to perform a diverse sacred choral repertoire in a uniquely relevant context, to create a musically inspiring, spiritually stirring experience.

990-EZ for the year ended June 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Te Deum's 17th season marked a transformative period of growth for the ensemble, reflecting both artistic and organizational strides. For the first time, Te Deum instituted a pay structure for ensemble members, a milestone that affirms the value of the singers' contributions and strengthens Te Deum's professional identity. We expanded our repertoire, showcasing a broader range of styles while highlighting American composers, many of whom are local and actively engaged with choral arts. These developments contributed to enhanced audience engagement, with nearly 2,000 community members attending performances and connecting with Te Deum's mission to perform a diverse sacred choral repertoire in a uniquely relevant context, to create a musically inspiring, spiritually stirring experience. We also achieved all the priorities outlined in the first year of our strategic plan, which guides Te Deum through the 2034-2035 season. Those priorities included paying all singers in the ensemble, formalizing strategic relationships with host venues and presenting organizations across Kansas City, commissioning new music, expanding the roles and wages of administrative staff, and increasing revenue by 15%. Collectively, these achievements signal a promising trajectory for Te Deum's continued evolution and impact.
