Mission

THE MISSION OF QSTI IS TO CREATE AND PERPETUATE EFFECTIVE MODELS OF CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE MODELS WE SEEK ARE EVIDENCE-BASED, ACCESSIBLE, AND SELF-SUSTAINING.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • DURING 2025, THE QIGONG SENSORY TRAINING INSTITUTE (QSTI) CONTINUED ITS MISSION TO EXPAND ACCESS TO EFFECTIVE, EVIDENCE-BASED CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM AND THEIR FAMILIES. BUILDING ON NEARLY TWO DECADES OF RESEARCH AND CLINICAL EXPERIENCE, QSTI TRAINED HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS TO DELIVER QIGONG SENSORY THERAPY (QST), A PARENT-DELIVERED THERAPY SHOWN TO IMPROVE SENSORY PROCESSING, COMMUNICATION, SELF-REGULATION, AND FAMILY BONDING. QSTI'S WORK FOCUSES ON EMPOWERING PARENTS TO PROVIDE DAILY THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT AT HOME, ALLOWING CHILDREN TO RECEIVE TIMELY CARE WHILE REDUCING THE BURDEN AND COST ASSOCIATED WITH TRADITIONAL CLINIC-BASED SERVICES.A MAJOR FOCUS OF THE YEAR WAS THE COMPLETION OF THE OREGON AUTISM FAMILY ACCESS INITIATIVE, A THREE-YEAR EFFORT THAT REPRESENTED ONE OF THE LARGEST TRAINING AND OUTREACH PROJECTS IN QSTI'S HISTORY. THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH OREGON FOUNDATIONS, QSTI SECURED MORE THAN $344,000 TO SUBSIDIZE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AND PROVIDE FREE SERVICES TO FAMILIES. OVER THE COURSE OF THE INITIATIVE, 41 PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATED IN CERTIFICATION COURSES, 40 FAMILIES RECEIVED COST-FREE CARE, AND RECRUITMENT EFFORTS PRIORITIZED RURAL, LOW-INCOME, BIPOC, IMMIGRANT, AND OTHER HISTORICALLY UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. FAMILIES PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM REPORTED SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENTS IN CHILD SENSORY PROCESSING AND SELF-REGULATION, ALONG WITH AN AVERAGE REDUCTION OF MORE THAN 43% IN PARENT STRESS.IN ADDITION TO EXPANDING ITS STATEWIDE NETWORK OF TRAINED PROFESSIONALS, QSTI STRENGTHENED ITS EDUCATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE BY LAUNCHING A NEW ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM AND REVITALIZING ITS MASTER TRAINER PROGRAM TO SUPPORT FUTURE GROWTH. THESE INVESTMENTS HAVE INCREASED TRAINING CAPACITY, IMPROVED THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR PRACTITIONERS, AND POSITIONED THE ORGANIZATION TO EXPLORE INNOVATIVE WAYS TO REACH MORE FAMILIES DIRECTLY IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
