Program accomplishments

  • Client Services now has two Case Managers, one of whom is bilingual. The team has developed a new program titled The Freedom Bloom Project, an 8-week trauma-informed program that focuses on building a variety of essential skills, including financial literacy, job readiness, understanding trauma and the brain, and empowerment. We also launched the Route to Independence Transportation Program, which helps clients learn how to navigate and utilize public transportation. Each client receives a personalized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs, ensuring holistic and individualized support. In addition, Client Services continues to strengthen partnerships with outside organizations to expand resources and opportunities for clients. These collaborations help provide access to employment pathways, financial education, mental health support, and community engagement opportunities, ensuring that clients receive wraparound care and long-term stability. Most recently, we introduced Brewed for Success, a new collaborative program with A 2nd Cup, which focuses on developing practical job skills, customer service experience, and workplace readiness through hands-on learning in a supportive environment.

  • Our Community Awareness efforts continue to make a meaningful impact through trainings and educational sessions with youth and young adults in residential facilities, schools, and jails. These sessions focus on increasing awareness around human trafficking, healthy relationships, boundaries, and personal empowerment. We have continued to build and strengthen relationships, particularly with Cenikor, a chemical dependency agency, and the Harris County Jail, where our team provides ongoing education and support. These partnerships have also expanded into Fort Bend County, where we now collaborate with residential agencies and the Fort Bend Juvenile Detention Center, broadening our regional reach and deepening our engagement with vulnerable populations.Additionally, we have sustained our focus on serving and supporting the LGBTQ+ community through partnerships with Tonys Place and Madison High School, in collaboration with Civic Heart, a relationship that has remained strong for over seven years. These partnerships allow us to create safe, inclusive spaces where youth can learn, connect, and access critical resources.
    Expenses $619,895
  • The Prevention Department continues to make significant strides in increasing awareness and equipping professionals with the tools to identify and respond to human trafficking. This year, the team successfully trained the entire Houston Police Department in collaboration with the HPD Vice Unit, a comprehensive effort that included not only police officers but also accountants, pilots, administrative staff, and specialized units within the department.Beyond Houston, our Prevention team has been actively providing frontline professional trainings throughout Fort Bend County in partnership with the District Attorneys Office. These trainings have strengthened local capacity to recognize and respond to trafficking and have fostered stronger partnerships with social service and healthcare providers. Most recently, we expanded our reach to include Communities In Schools and the Houston Area Womens Center, where we trained social workers and case staff on identifying trafficking indicators, responding with a trauma-informed lens, and connecting survivors to appropriate resources. These collaborations reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring that frontline professionals across multiple sectors are equipped to prevent and intervene in cases of human trafficking.
