Mission
FLM-HAITI BELIEVES THAT THE FUTURE OF HAITI LIES IN ITS OWN PEOPLE, AND TO THAT END ALL OF ITS EFFORTS ARE DESIGNED WITH THE GOALS OF FOSTERING LEADERSHIP AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS AMONG THOSE IT SERVES, ENCOURAGING DEVELOPMENT OF THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO SEEK OR CREATE.
Program accomplishments
- SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1983, FLM-HAITI HAS PROVIDED BASIC LITERACY EDUCATION (A TWO-YEAR HAITIAN-GOVERNMENT CERTIFIED CURRICULUM IN READING, WRITING, AND MATH) TO MORE THAN 40,000 ADULT HAITIAN MEN AND WOMEN THROUGH ITS OPERATIONS OF UP TO 70+ ADULT LITERACY CENTERS. ADDITIONALLY, FLM - HAITI OPERATES A PERMANENT SCHOOL, CERTIFIED BY THE HAITIAN GOVERNMENT, FOR 650+ CHILDREN GRADES PRESCHOOL - GRADE 13. THE STUDENTS ARE ALSO PROVIDED A HOT LUNCH WITH VITAMINS.Expenses $94,778 · grants $82,068
