To advance the understanding and use of membrane technology to treat municipal, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and waste waters.
Program accomplishments
- PUBLIC OUTREACH: THE CORPORATION DIRECTS PUBLIC EDUCATION AND RELATIONS ACTIVITIES, WHICH INCLUDE INTERFACING WITH KEY PRESS, POLICY MAKERS, ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLIC OFFICIALS TO PROMOTE MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY AWARENESS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. PUBLIC OUTREACH ACTIVITIES ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE REGULAR FUNCTION OF THE CORPORATION AND ARE NECESSARY IN SUCH THINGS AS CONFERENCES, EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS AND LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ADVOCACY AS DESCRIBED LATER. THE OUTREACH PROGRAM IS NOT, HOWEVER, LIMITED TO THOSE ITEMS. THE PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ITEMS THAT REACH THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETPLACE: PROMOTING THE CORPORATIONS GOALS AND OBJECTIVES BY EXHIBITING AT OTHER TRADE AND PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION CONFERENCES, ASSISTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF ARTICLES AND PAPERS FOR OUTSIDE JOURNALS AND PUBLICATIONS, RESEARCHING THE NEED AND FEASIBILITY OF PUBLISHING OTHER INDUSTRY GUIDES, DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING A DYNAMIC WEBSITE, ONLINE PORTAL AND DATA BASE FOR MEMBERS AND NONMEMBERS, PROVIDING A NEWSLETTER FOR ALL MEMBERS, AND PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS INVOLVED IN MEMBRANE RESEARCH AND/OR OPERATORS SEEKING ADVANCED DEGREES.Expenses $244,079 · grants $57,000 · revenue $21,694
