Mission
The Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association of the United States, Inc. (The Association) furthers the business interests of its members through a sound scientific program designed to promote the safe use of flavors, through effective presentation of its members. The asscociation fosters a global environment in which the flavor industry can create, innovate, and compete.
Program accomplishments
- SCIENTIFIC PROJECTS CONDUCTED BY THE ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE DATA NECESSARY TO SUPPORT THE EVALUATION OF THE SAFETY OF FLAVORS. A PANEL OF INDEPENDENT EXPERTS IS RETAINED BY THE ASSOCIATION TO ADVISE ON MATTERS OF INGREDIENT SAFETY.
- A GOVERNMENT RELATIONS PROGRAM TO MONITOR FEDERAL, STATE, AND INTERNATIONAL LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ACTIVITIES AFFECTING THE FLAVOR INDUSTRY AND REPRESENT THE INTEREST OF THE INDUSTRY BEFORE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
- ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD, ATTENDED BY 150 TO 200 REPRESENTATIVES OF MEMBER COMPANIES AT WHICH THE MEMBERSHIP IS UPDATED ON NEW PROGRAMS AND TOPICS OF CURRENT INTEREST TO THE INDUSTRY AND THE BUSINESS OF THE ASSOCIATION IS CONDUCTED.
