Mission

Berks Recycling Coalition sponsors an educational and fun event in a public park with non-profit exhibitors, for-profit exhibitors, music, animal exhibits, Native American presentations, food vendors, speakers, and tree plantings. We have sponsored this event since 1990. We pay for music, entertainment activities, and sound systems; we rent and provide tents, tables, and chairs to our exhibitors; and we pay for these expenses via corporate sponsorships and very minimal booth fees.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • We attracted a large public audience for our exhibitors who are mostly non-profits doing public outreach.
    Expenses $18,312 · revenue $15,314
  • Attract people from throughout the area to an event in downtown City of Reading. Prior to our first event, we heard many people from the surrounding area say that they would never go to downtown Reading. While this is still a challenge, our first effort helped to jump start other activities in Reading's City Park including a music festival for consecutive Friday evenings in July. Both our event and their event have attracted many people to downtown Reading.0
  • We provide educational activities for the community including petting zoo, animal exhibits, Native American presentations, and more0
